Artic Lorries Parked on Cycle/Pedestrian Pathway

Reported in the Obstruction category anonymously at 19:13, Tue 1 November 2016

Sent to Bristol City Council 12 minutes later

Lorries are parking on the pavement in this area. Most are foreign lorries and it would appear that the drivers are using the pavements as a lorry park sleeping in their cabs and/or waiting for loading! The lorry in the picture is one of many parked on this day and you can see that it is totally blocking the pavement and also blocking the cycle/footpath opposite which forms part of the avon cycle way. These pavements were put in place to help ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists however the blockage of the paths means that pedestrians have to walk in the road along this section and it looks like the pavements are suffering damage due to the weight of the vehicles involved.

  • Lorries are back on the pavement again. Noted 3 lorries parked today completely blocking the cycle path plus they leave their rubbish outside the lorry cab. If I parked my car on a pavement like that I am sure I would be given a parking ticket so please sort this out Bristol City Council?
