Depression in road just in front of drain cover

Reported via mobile in the Depression in road category anonymously at 10:11, Wednesday 8 April 2026

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9256136.

The road was resurfaced last year but the depression in the road was not addressed. The dip in front of the drain cover is continually getting bigger and bigger. Cars drive too fast over the dip causing their front bumper underneath to hit the drain cover. This causes a loud crashing noise frequently throughout the day and causes plastic debris broken off from cars to be strewn all across the road.

Updates

  • A new enquiry has been raised for this issue.

Posted by Bristol City Council at 10:11, Wednesday 8 April 2026

  • This issue is currently under investigation. We'll provide updates on the outcome as soon as we can.

Posted by Bristol City Council at 11:23, Wednesday 8 April 2026

  • We've referred the issue externally for appropriate action to be taken, as it's not something Bristol City Council is responsible for.

Posted by Bristol City Council at 13:27, Monday 13 April 2026

  • Who has this been referred to? I thought Bristol City Council were responsible for maintaining roads? This is a problem with a dip in the road and not a problem with the drain cover.

  • As this issue is not urgent we'll deal with it as part of a future planned work scheme in this area.
