Request for double yellow lines at junction of Eden Grove and Filton Avenue

I am writing to request that double yellow lines be installed at the junction of Eden Grove and Filton Avenue, due to ongoing safety concerns caused by vehicles parking too close to the junction. Vehicles are regularly parked immediately adjacent to the junction, which significantly obstructs visibility for drivers attempting to exit the side road onto Filton Avenue. This creates a hazardous situation, as it is often not possible to clearly see oncoming traffic (which frequently appears to be travelling above the 30 mph speed limit) without edging dangerously into the main carriageway. In particular, the van shown in the attached photo is regularly parked in the same location and is a particular issue due to its size, further reducing sightlines and increasing the risk of collision. As outlined in the Highway Code, double yellow lines indicate that waiting and parking are prohibited at all times. Such restrictions are commonly used to improve visibility at junctions and prevent obstructive or dangerous parking. The current situation clearly demonstrates the need for this type of control. There are already examples further along Filton Avenue where double yellow lines are installed at similar junctions to prevent parking on the main road and ensure safe visibility for vehicles pulling out. Extending this approach to the junction of Eden Grove would provide consistency and improve safety for all road users.
