Very Large Pothole inside the speedbump that led to car issue

Reported via mobile in the Pothole large category anonymously at 10:42, Friday 3 July 2026

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9726700.

This pothole has been there for more than 2 months and I hit it full on a dusky evening heading home from Trinity school. It was quite a jarring impact, but seeing the wheel and tyre was okay, I didn't think anything of it. A few weeks later during the 1st heatwave in May the air conditioning unit stopped working, so I took it into the garage and refilled the gas and didn't think much of it. However during the next heatwave last week the unit went again, which was strange and took it in for a look. That's when they discovered the major fault inside the unit. It was damaged so that the pipe was leaking and the front panel was disconnected as well. The total price for repairs are 1100 (I have more photos and video as proof), which is a lot of money. Ideally I'd like to reclaim this amount from the council because this pothole has been there for a long time and as you can see it's very dangerous, and ideally I'd like others to avoid this problem if possible.
