No sign of “essential” works 9 days after road closed

Reported via desktop in the Inactive roadworks category anonymously at 11:36, Wednesday 22 July 2026

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9827789.

The Dingle has now been closed 9 days (closed from 13th July) for “ essential works”. Nine days later there is still no sign of any work starting. The Dingle has been unnecessarily closed all this time, preventing cars accessing the Car Park, and forcing traffic to divert and park on surrounding residential roads. Why is it impossible to better coordinate road closures with work starting? Either start the work, or re-open the road until contractors are ready to start the work!
