Weeds in gutters need urgent spraying & clearing
Reported via desktop in the Path cleaning category anonymously at 18:05, Monday 27 July 2026
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9855586.
This problem, first reported on 15th May 2025 has not been dealt with and seems to have been passed from street cleansing to Bristol Waste without either taking responsibility, or trying to help, for example by passing the issue to the manager of the department responsible. There seems to be plenty of "process" yet devoid of any action. Further, despite the assistant at BCC passing the request for action, her requests have also been ignored. We would be grateful, as council tax payers, if the issue could now be addessed.
See ref: 9458979 The roadsides urgently needs spraying to counter vegetation growth. Weeds have become established in road gutters breaking up surfaces and creating trip hazards. Debris from gutters is being washed down drains, reducing water flow. Out of a nearby drain there is plant growth. The Crescent and Hill Grove have had no weed control for over 5 years. This problem was first reported on 15/05/26. Following a call to the council on 05/06/26, we were informed that: 1. A drains inspector would be visiting the site within two weeks. May I ask, has the inspection taken place? 2. The call handler sent a reminder email to the relevant department at Bristol Council. The weeds remain and are thriving.
